Ashlee Simpson expecting

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have confirmed they are expecting their first child.

The couple - who married at Ashlee's parents' Los Angeles house on May 17 - wanted to wait until Ashlee had safely gone past her first trimester, three months, before announcing the happy news.

They wrote on Pete's website friendsorenemies.com: "While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm we are expecting our first child.

"This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."

Meanwhile, Ashlee is set to officially change her surname in honour of her new husband.

The 23-year-old singer will be known to family and friends as Ashlee Wentz and professionally as Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.

She said: "I think it's something a woman should do when they're marrying a man. It's a tradition, and I think it's a great tradition."

Fall Out Boy rocker Pete, 28, insists he would never pressurise Ashlee to change her name, but was thrilled with the decision.

He told People magazine: "These decisions with Ashlee and her name are all completely up to Ashlee. I want her to do these kinds of things the way she wants to do them.

"But I was flattered. I was like, 'Upgrade me!' You know what I'm saying? The Wentz family, our Christmas card just got upgraded! It feels insane. It feels unreal."

The couple's baby is expected this autumn.

Pete Wentz steps out for the Chicago preview of Angels & Kings

You’re not doing too bad for yourself if you celebrate your 29th birthday with a private preview party of your very own bar. And if your name’s Pete Wentz.

On Tuesday, the Fall Out Boy bassist and partners—local nightlife fixtures Matt Eisler (Empire Liquors, Victory Liquors) and Stephen Westman (Lakeview Broadcasting Co.)—unveiled Angels & Kings, their new River North bar with a gritty rock ’n’ roll edge in the space most recently occupied by Rockwell. (Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton is also a partner, but he didn’t attend.)

Yeah, this spot has star-studded appeal.

But the group plans to give Angels & Kings substance too. Get ready for live band karaoke Wednesdays hosted by Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman (when he’s in town), Angels & Queens Sundays for the GLBT crowd, and AK47 Mondays for industry peeps.

At Tuesday’s preview bash, guests walked in to have a mugshot taken—a theme carried throughout the space. Oversized celeb mugshots of James Brown, Janis Joplin and Ozzy Osbourne—just to name a few—grace the walls.

Smaller shots of Pete and wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz hang on the DJ booth; eventually patrons might see their own pics plastered on the wood plank-covered walls.Dark walls and low lighting create the perfect mood for rocker wannabes who prefer a bit of privacy.
The overall aesthetic is raw and edgy, yet comfortable.

Bench seating lines the wall opposite the bar, while a couple of large gangster booths and an elevated platform with couches cover the front half of the space.

It’s also fun: Bathrooms are covered in chalkboard paint, a yellow halo lights up above the DJ’s head, painted AK-47s by artist Peter Gronquist are on display, and there’s a huge gong behind the bar for the staff to ring when a big shot buys a “gong shot”—meaning everyone in the bar gets a shot.

Private, invite-only parties take place this week; AK will open to the public next week.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz expecting a boy

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are expecting a baby boy, a rep from the baby boutique Petit Tresor tells CelebTV.com exclusively. The couple, who married in May, filled out a registry for their baby in June and our source says, “almost everything is blue.”

A salesperson who helped the couple said, “They [Simpson and Wentz] made it very clear that it was a boy.”

On June 30, the rocker couple bought a few T-shirts and bibs from Plain Mary with the words, “Hunk,” “Loved” and “Yummy” emblazoned on the front. The shirts retail for $28 and the bibs for $18.

Simpson and Wentz will visit the baby boutique next week to discuss the nursery, our source confirms.

Simpson’s rep did not immediately return our call for comment.

Pete Wentz: Ashlee Simpson craves green olives and pickles

Fall Out Boy says she makes some bizarre requests

Pete Wentz says his pregnant wife Ashlee Simpson has started to have strange cravings.

The Fall Out Boy bassist says the singer has developed a penchant for certain foods.

'Green olives and pickles!’ Pete said on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show yesterday.

‘Green olives on everything! [It’s] an anytime kind-of-thing. You always have to be ready.’

Pete, 29, who married Ashlee in an intimate ceremony on 17 May, says he can’t wait to start bonding with his child.

‘I heard women become mothers when they become pregnant, and boys become fathers when the baby is born,’ he said.

‘So I don't feel all the physical things, but when I'm in the doctor's office I freak out. It's crazy because it's this thing you made.'

Ashlee, 23, is due to give birth later this year.

Photos: Simpson Sisters and Pete Wentz Cheer On Tony Romo

Making for quite the star-studded cheering section, Jessica Simpson, along with sister Ashlee and her rocker hubby Pete Wentz, cheered on Tony Romo at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship at Lake Tahoe on Saturday (July 12).

And it seems that the Simpson sister support is doing the Dallas Cowboys quarterback stud some good - as Romo finds himself in second place to six-time champion Rick Rhoden going into the final round of play.

Funnily enough, press reports tell that "Romo took a spill in a pond on the first hole after losing his awkward footing on a steep bunker shot, but rebounded to shoot a 73 worth 43 points."

Speaking to press following his solid round of play, Romo said that "he tries to use golf as a tool to put himself in situations where hopefully he can think clearly under pressure."

"The more times you do that, for me I think will help me in football," he said, also telling that it was good to have Jessica on-hand cheering him on. "She has been at more sporting events than people know.
